SECURITY ALERT (valid as of : JANUARY 08)
Although there have been recent arrests of high level terrorist operatives in Indonesia, EZI still assesses the risk to anyone traveling to Indonesia / Bali as High. Intelligence has indicated that terrorists are continuing active planning of soft targets. These attacks could take place at any time and could be imminent. All news organisations should conduct their own risk assessment of the situation before deploying crews to Indonesia.

Suicide attacks against locations frequented by foreigners in Bali and Jakarta such as the 1 October 2005 and 12 October 2002 Bali bombings and bomb attack outside the Australian Embassy in Jakarta in September 2004 are possible.

Pakistan: High Security Alert,
Police in Pakistan say they are investigating two loud explosions heard in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. The cause and location of the blasts is not clear, but officials say all "sensitive installations" are safe. Some reports say at least one of the explosions took place in the nearby city of Rawalpindi, 12km (seven miles) from the capital city.
